There could be many medical and other benefits to "suspended animation" - a state in which the body's metabolism slows by a huge percentage. Dr. Mark Roth and his team at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center are studying suspended animation and how to control it.

This is a great resource that I can use to engage my students. The length is perfect: short enough to keep them interested, yet long enough to provide necessary details. I can see this resource being used as an introductory activity as I start a metabolism unit.
