The biggest pro for the use of electronic resources is it allows the student to assume a greater role in the learning process. With digital access, the students are provided with the opportunity of learning at their own pace. At the same time, they could further enhance their knowledge by accessing materials that might be above their current grade level. This is especially relevant to advanced students who would otherwise be held back by their peers. On the other hand, the biggest con against reliance upon electronic resources is the greater susceptibility and failure to discern invalid information. Evaluating the degree of reliability of the available information requires a certain level of sophistication for electronic media users. Such level of expertise, unfortunately, is lacking in a significant portion of the student population.
